Neil Pryde Sails has worked closely with Sea Eagle, the builder of the SailCat in developing the new rig and sail for this new all purpose inflatable sailing catamaran.
The easy to use Lateen rig sail is a an obvious development of work we have already done in this area but with a new refinement which includes a luff and foot sleeve which simplifies rigging and and adjustment of the sail. Unlike other catamaran designs, the SailCat uses a Lateen Rig - the simplest and easiest to use sail rig design around. Just two lines — one to raise the sail and one to trim it — mean new sailors, even pre-teens, return from a day on the waves with smiles on their faces.
